Enabling Conversations
Saturday 13 September 2025
11:00 - 13:30
V&A Dundee
Designed by Cat Laird and Eilidh Macleod
In partnership with V&A Dundee and Suicide Prevention Scotland
You are invited to join us for the launch of a brand-new toolkit designed to support parents, carers, trusted adults, and young people in having open and effective conversations about suicide.
This event is for anyone working with children, young people and families, as well as parents and youth groups.
Developed in response to what young people have told us they need, the toolkit offers practical guidance for navigating these difficult conversations, whether as a parent or carer, a young person speaking to an adult, or a young person supporting a peer.
On the day, you’ll hear how the resource was designed, explore how it can be used in practice, and connect with local services. A practical studio space will also be available, giving you the chance to engage with the toolkit at your own pace and share your feedback.
Accessibility
A range of measures will be in place to support the conference being accessible and inclusive. Please see fuller details at the end of this invite. If you have any specific accessibility needs, please let us know when you are booking your place to attend.
Booking a place
There are 100 places that will be open to everyone and allocated on a first come basis. We ask that organisations register for no more than two places and make decisions about who is best placed to attend to support sharing the learning wider to staff teams.
Refreshments
These will be provided during the day along with lunch. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when you are booking your place to attend.
Transport
There is only disabled parking directly outside V&A Dundee, however, there is parking and public transport nearby.
