On 11 February 2026, UCL turned 200 years old.
To mark this milestone and two centuries of bold ideas, breakthrough discoveries and inclusive education, we have launched our new philanthropic and engagement campaign: Here, it will happen.
But this campaign is not just for London. It belongs to every place where UCL's people come together to exchange ideas, build connections and create positive change.
Across the world, UCL alumni are advancing knowledge, leading organisations, building businesses, shaping public policy and tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges. Together, you are part of a remarkable international network united by a shared UCL experience. And as we begin UCL's third century, the strength of our global community has never been more important.
That is why we are delighted to invite you to Here, it will happen – Singapore on Monday 16 November 2026.
Bringing together alumni, supporters and friends from across Asia-Pacific, this event is a unique opportunity to reconnect with UCL, hear about world-leading research, strengthen existing relationships and build new ones.
Hosted by Dr Michael Spence, UCL President and Provost, the evening will feature remarks from Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore and UCL alumnus, as well as insights from two of UCL's leading academic voices.
Together, they will share perspectives on the challenges shaping our future and the role that universities, communities and individuals can play in addressing them.
This event is about celebrating our first 200 years, but also what comes next. We hope you will join fellow alumni and friends in Singapore to be part of that journey.
