These outline what to expect when volunteering, how we keep everyone safe, and how your personal information will be used. They are intended to ensure a positive, professional and respectful experience for all volunteers and guests.

TERMS & CONDITIONS AND PRIVACY POLICY
By volunteering for the Diamond Ball 2026 ("the Event"), I agree to the following terms and conditions:
- I have volunteered to assist Children's Cancer Institute Australia (ABN 41 072 279 559) ("you/your) to carry out the Event on 19 September 2026.
- I will perform all duties on a voluntary basis and will not receive remuneration or payment for work. Neither you or I intend any employment or contractual relationship to be created (i.e. I am not your employee, independent contractor or consultant).
- I am at least eighteen (18) years old.
- I will produce valid NSW Government-issued photo identification to you at the Event as proof of my identity.
- I will perform my volunteering duties in a responsible manner and will always comply with your directions and applicable Commonwealth and New South Wales laws.
- I have never been: convicted of any criminal, civil, military or other offence; summonsed or charged to appear before any court, tribunal or authority in connection with any criminal, civil, military or other offence or incident; or the subject of a domestic violence, firearms prohibition, restraining order or other court order.
- I understand that I have a responsibility for my safety and will comply with all safety briefings and guidelines provided to me.
- I warrant that I am physically fit to carry out my allocated volunteering duties and I will discontinue my volunteering duties if I am suffering from any medical or other condition which may impair or impede my ability to volunteer.
- I consent to receiving medical treatment which may be deemed advisable or necessary in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the Event.
- I understand that during the performance of my volunteering duties, I may have access to certain confidential information, including information about you, the Event and Eventguests ("Confidential Information"). I agree to hold the Confidential Information in the strictest confidence and not reveal the Confidential Information to anyone who is not your employee.
- I authorise you to take photographs, video recordings and audio recordings of me at the Event ("the Footage") and agree that all copyright in the Footage will be owned solely by you. You may, on a perpetual basis, use, copy, reproduce, modify, broadcast or communicate my name, image, likeness, voice or statement, without payment, in any manner or media worldwide, as part of the Footage for your business and promotional purposes.

I agree that any Personal Information collected about me will be used by you in accordance with the Privacy Notice below:
Privacy Notice: The Children’s Cancer Institute Australia (“the Institute”) may collect your personal information to register you as a volunteer for our events. We may also disclose your personal information for fundraising and marketing purposes, such as sending you information about other volunteering activities for the Institute. Your personal information may also be used by artificial intelligence to the extent necessary to deliver the event. The collection, use, disclosure, and destruction of this information will be handled in accordance with The Institute’s Privacy Statement, Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988. If you do not consent to your personal information being disclosed by the Institute Australia in this manner, you can opt out by emailing us at volunteer@ccia.org.au.
