Welcome to Frieze 2025
at 125 Newbury
Join the directors of 125 Newbury for a private preview and tour of Gottlieb/Rothko: The Realist Years, an exhibition of early figurative paintings and works on paper by the two giants of 20th century art. The exhibition offers an intimate look at the friendship, mutual influence, and parallel development of Rothko and Gottlieb in the 1920s and 1930s, before their turn towards Abstract Expressionism. Taking place at the gallery's Tribeca location at 395 Broadway, the show traces the artists’ approach to figuration before pivoting towards abstraction and transforming the landscape of modern art.
